Night feeds
A calmer way to track feeds at 3am
At 3am, a useful tracking system should ask almost nothing of you. The aim is not to build a perfect record. It is to capture the few facts that stop both parents having to reconstruct the night later.
4 minute read
Decide what is genuinely useful
For most households, a time, feed type and rough amount or duration are enough. Add a short note only when something unusual happened. A shorter record that you actually keep is more useful than an elaborate one you abandon after two nights.
Use the same start and finish rule
Agree whether a feed is logged when it begins or when it ends. Consistency makes the timeline easier to read when you are tired, particularly when both parents are adding entries.
Make the morning handover visible
The parent taking over should be able to see the last feed, last sleep and last change without asking for a verbal recap. Keep the handover factual and brief; anything that needs a proper conversation can sit in a note.
Let the screen stay quiet
Use a dim interface, large controls and as few taps as possible. Bright screens and fiddly forms are exactly what a night-time tracker should avoid.
Little Days combines a dedicated night mode with one-tap logging, live timers and a handover card, so the record is there without becoming another job.
